How to wrap Palm Pals Christmas 2024

Seemingly, Christmas has come – the snow is falling (literally) and some eager beavers already have their trees up!

If that’s you, you may well be wondering how best to wrap all of those festive presents and when is best to start – especially if you have a lot to wrap and have been buying Palm Pals for everyone.

Here to set your mind at ease in one simple and easy-to-follow guide, the elves at Jeremy’s Home Store are ready to help – scissors and ribbon at the ready!

When is the right time to start wrapping Christmas gifts?

This is very much a matter of personal opinion, some like to put a festive film on and attack a huge pile while others prefer to space out their wrapping in bitesize chunks.

So, it’s really up to you.

However, the biggest thing to consider is how much the presents will be moved between being wrapped and being carried to the car or the receiver, as this is when colourful wrapping paper can tear and gift tags can become loose and get lost.

If your gifts can be left in one spot pretty undisturbed before delivery, feel free to wrap them as early as you like – with or without a mug of your favourite hot cocoa or mulled wine.

Unfortunately, if you will likely not be able to leave your gifts in one spot, you may need to plan some wrapping time shortly before they can be delivered or, once you have put up the Christmas tree and can store them safely below.

How to wrap Palm Pals Christmas gifts

A well-wrapped present can seem like an unnecessary step but a finely wrapped gift can be a real thing of beauty and make Christmas feel all the more magical and luxurious.

To help, our elves recommend following one of the following methods:

  • Gift boxes
  • Cellophane and hampers
  • Wrapping paper

Gift boxes

If your gifts normally look a bit more shoddy than special under the Christmas tree, a gift box is the ideal solution.

But to make it look as glamorous as possible, you should choose a gift box and scrunched or shredded tissue paper in colours that go nicely together. This could be a classic red and gold, navy and silver, or even a purple and green for the more adventurous.

Then, take a few large handfuls of shredded paper or two scrunched sheets and fill the bottom of the box before topping it with your Palm Pals UK gift.

Then, add more shredded or scrunched paper on top, place your filled-in gift tag carefully, and cover with the lid.

For extra wow you can tie a large ribbon bow or stick on a self-adhesive bow to the top of the box.

Hampers

If wrapping isn’t your festive forte but you want your gifts to look impressive, a hamper is the way to go.

Delivering a touch of class and ideal for showing off multiple smaller or one large gift, you can find hamper kits in shops all over the high street.

Simply fill your hamper generously with shredded tissue paper or decorative straw and arrange your presents on top. If you have tall gifts, position them at the back in the middle of the hamper with either empty space or smaller tokens at the sides.

Then, lay out long sections of cellophane (more than you think you’ll need), lay the basket on top midway, and pull the cellophane sections on either side upwards, joining it at the top with tape or an elastic band.

Finally, add a gift tag and bow to cover the tape or the elastic band and fill in any gaps in the cellophane with clear tape – nobody will see this once complete!

Wrapping paper

If you are up for the challenge, sumptuous gift-wrapping is the ultimate way to show you care.

Stretch out a length of paper on the floor or table but don’t cut it – you are trying to see how much you need. Once you have identified two times the width of the Palm Pal and twice the height, you can cut the paper.

Holding it firmly but gently, fold one side of the paper to the middle of the Palm Pal and tape it in place with a small section.

Then fold over the other side, towards the taped side. If you find you have too much paper, fold the edge of the paper inward to reduce the length then secure this side to the other with a small amount of tape.

To cover the sides, tuck and fold the paper against the toy, starting with the long sides. Hold this in place while you pinch the short sides into neat triangles and tape both triangles into place.

Then, write your gift tag and secure it in place with a ribbon bow or stick-on bow to hold it in place. Voila!
